Ashton Collins

Director

Ashton co-founded Save Face in 2014. With a background in the management and development of accreditation schemes, Ashton developed Save Face to provide members of the public with an accessible way to find a safe, verified practitioner. Ashton is responsible for the operation of the Save Face public awareness campaigns and public engagement strategies. Her high-profile media campaigns have led to several investigations and convictions of rogue practitioners and most recently a change in the law. Since 2014 Ashton has campaigned for cosmetic fillers and botox to be made illegal for those under 18. MP Laura Trott joined forces with Ashton and in 2021 a new law was passed to prevent practitioners from injecting children.

He has headed up a number of business teams and has many years of business development experience. He is passionate about his commitment to help develop Save Face as the leading accreditation and consumer reference body for non-surgical treatments in the UK.

Emma Davies

Clinical Director

Emma has specialised in Aesthetic Medicine since 1998. In addition to her private clinical practice in Somerset, she has contributed to numerous publications, professional bodies and project groups relating to clinical standards, regulation and education. Emma was a Committee Member RCN Aesthetic Nurses Forum 2000-2010; Founding Member and Secretary British Association of Sclerotherapists 2003-2010; Founding Member and Chair British Association of Cosmetic Nurses 2010-2014; Clinical Director Save Face 2014-present; Founding member The Aesthetic Complications Expert Group 2010-2020. She also received cosmetic awards: Services to Industry and Cosmetic Nurse of The Year 2013, Association of the year (BACN) 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and Initiative of the Year (ACE Group) 2018.

Dr Sam Robson

Save Face Advisory Board Interim Chair

Temple Medical, MBCHB, MRCGP, BCAM Dr Sam Robson qualified as a Doctor of Medicine from Aberdeen University in 1991 and is now the medical director at Temple Medical, a multi award-winning clinic based in Aberdeen, Scotland. In addition to this, Dr Robson is dedicated to raising the standards and profile of the industry, and is currently an appraiser for BCAM (British College of Aesthetic Medicine) - a role that entails supporting and evaluating Doctors in preparation for revalidation and continuation of their licence to practice. Dr Robson also has a voluntary post as the medical advisor for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in Aberdeen. She is passionate about evidence-based practice and uses scientifically proven treatments in her clinical work, and is actively involved in research and development of new technology and protocols to provide safe and effective treatments. She is on the advisory board for Lustre and a key opinion leader for several aesthetic companies. Dr Robson contributes to articles for several aesthetic journals and has presented at both national and international conferences. She has recently been invited to join the consensus group which reviews guidelines produced by Aesthetic Complications Expert Group. Dr Robson is fully committed to further training and engagement with new technologies, attending conferences and courses to learn about pioneering new treatments and aesthetic developments. Accordingly, Temple Medical is now at the forefront of the medical aesthetics and weight loss management industry in Scotland, and is recognised as being the leading Alizonne® clinic in Scotland.

Mike Regan

Save Face Advisory Board Vice Chair

Laser Protection Adviser Mike has been working as a Laser Protection Adviser in the aesthetics sector since 2005, carrying out Clinic Risk Assessments and delivering Core of Knowledge Training. Extending beyond lasers, from 2010 to 2020 he also held the position of Chair to the BSI CH403 Committee, which is developing best practice standards for the complete range of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures.

Clare McLoughlin

Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber, RGN, INP

Clare McLoughlin has been a general nurse since 1988 and is an Independent Nurse Prescriber and advanced procedure aesthetic nurse and trainer with more than 15 years’ experience in the aesthetic field. As a recognised aesthetic trainer, Clare is known for her professional approach and skill in the field of aesthetics and has appeared on a number of television programmes performing injectable aesthetic treatments. After working as a practitioner for a large national chain 2001-2003, Clare started her own business – Appearance Based Medicine – in 2004, to enable her to provide the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. Clare is has been an advanced techniques trainer in Botulinum toxin treatments and Skin fillers since 2004. As well as training other Healthcare professionals in this field, Clare is a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN) and British Association of Sclerotherapists (BAS). Clare is recently published and her clinic Appearance Based Medicine is located in Marlow- on- Thames.

Helen Blanchard

RN, Dip.Prof.Studies (Midwifery) INP

Helen is a qualified nurse, midwife and independent nurse prescriber and has over 30 years experience in health care. Helen started her nursing career over 32 years ago qualifying as a general nurse in 1987 and midwife in 1996. Apon qualifying she staffed at Clatterbridge in the regional cancer centre before moving into the pharmaceutical industry. During this time maintaining her registration by working as a bank nurse in the community. Latterly she worked in General Practice as a practice nurse and also worked as a midwife on labour ward. Helen qualified as an Independent Nurse prescriber in 2009. Helen made the move into the aesthetics industry in 2008 eventually setting Fresh Faces up in 2009. Initially she ran this along side her NHS role. As the clinic developed and grew Helen left the NHS in 2011 to concentrate full time on aesthetics. Helen was also responsible for setting up and running the nurse led aesthetics clinic at the  Spire Hospital, Liverpool for 4 years. Helen has been actively involved with the British Association of Cosmetic Nurse (BACN) setting up the North West regional group and The Northern Association of Aesthetic Practitoners (NAPG). She regularly attends meetings, participates in on going training and invests in her continuing professional education and development . Motivated by patient safety and safety of practitioners she has always been active in trying to improve standards, good practice and sharing knowledge. Helen is also one of the Nurse advisors on the Save Face advisory board. All of this she does in her own time and at her own cost.

Lorna Jackson

Bsc. (Hons), Industry Commentator & Writer, Former Editor at Consulting Room

Lorna was Editor at Consulting Room, the UK’s largest aesthetic information website from 2003 to 2021. She now holds a consultancy position with the company and has founded a business offering bespoke copywriting and content creation services for aesthetic businesses. Lorna is an industry commentator on a number of different areas related to the aesthetic sector; collating statistics, evaluating trends, and writing articles, blogs, and reports. She has also featured in various consumer and trade publications, including articles published in Aesthetic Medicine, Aesthetic Dentistry Today, Cosmetic News (now Aesthetics Journal), Journal of Aesthetic Nursing, PMFA News and Body Language industry magazines, as well as producing the content for The Definitive Guide to Cosmetic Treatments for the 2005 & 2006 Body Beautiful Show. Lorna was also responsible for producing a quarterly-printed trade magazine for Consulting Room subscribers. As an industry commentator, Lorna is regularly asked to speak at various events including business workshops for industry suppliers and trade associations and larger events such as SMART Ideas, FACE, and the CCR Expo. She regularly attends key conferences and educational events for the industry to ensure continued knowledge and has close contact with many of the suppliers who manufacture and distribute products and devices utilised in aesthetic medicine. Lorna also liaises with press and members of the media researching for articles and television programmes, with the aim of educating them and ultimately raising public awareness about cosmetic interventions and the need to seek reputable practitioners. Lorna is passionate about improving patient safety and regulation within the aesthetic sector.

Sophie Riddell

MRPharmS IP Specialist Pharmacist Prescriber

Sophie’s interest in aesthetics and dermatology began in 2004 when she completed a pharmaceutical Masters specializing in dermatological disease and its effect on quality of life. This research led to multiple publications and presentations at national and international meetings, including the International Quality and Safety in Healthcare forum. After becoming an independent prescriber in 2009 she continued to work as a specialist clinical pharmacist prescriber within the NHS as well as pursuing experience in Non-Surgical cosmetic procedures, training alongside surgeons and specialist nurses in this field. Being an advocate of the importance of anatomical knowledge in aiding safe aesthetic practice, Sophie has gained extensive training in the management and prevention of dermal filler complications, facial profile restoration and rejuvenation treatments. She is committed to promoting the professional, clinical role of the specialist pharmacist prescriber and is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, the General Pharmaceutical Council UK and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation agency. Sophie is the founding member of the Cosmetics Pharmacists Group UK which aims to promote safe, ethical and evidence based practice amongst pharmacist prescribers specialising in cosmetic medicine.

Dr Nina Bal

Cosmetic Dental Surgeon

Dr Nina Bal is a Cosmetic Dental Surgeon and Facial Aesthetics Doctor who, in 2008, graduated at the top of her year with distinction (BDS magna cum laude), and gained a highly respected diploma after completing a one-year Postgraduate in Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry in London. A member of the General Dental Council, she is also a member of IAFFA (The International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics ). You might recognise her from TV as Dr Nina is the official cosmetic dentist in the Series 2 of the UK Tv Show Bodyfixers on E4 and from This Morning Show with Holly and Phil on ITV. Dr Nina and her work have been featured many times in Forbes, Evening Standard, Harvard, Metro, Tatler, The Times, The Sun, Sunday Mirror, Thrive Global and Adweek just to name a few. Dr. Nina is the winner of the 2020 Global Excellence Awards for the Most Outstanding Facial Sculpting Treatments. Dr Nina is also the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards 2018 winner in the Facial Aesthetics category – Full Facial Treatment and won Finalist in the Facial Aesthetics- Dermal Fillers category in 2019. In 2017 she was shortlisted as one of the best young dentists in the UK by the highly prestigious Dental Awards. Dr Nina is passionate about enhancing a patient’s innate beauty. Her philosophy is ‘less is more’ and she loves to make subtle aesthetic tweaks that lead to excellent, yet natural, results. Dr Nina’s services include restorative cosmetic dentistry, facial aesthetic treatments and aesthetic medicine, non-surgical cosmetic procedures and non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment.

Dr Manav Bawa

MD, PGDip(ESSQ), MRCS(Eng), M Ed SE & DIC, MRCGP, PGDip(CAIT)

Dr Manav Bawa is an award-winning cosmetic doctor and the Medical Director of Time Clinic Medical Aesthetics & Wellness. His background lies in surgery, where he spent 5 years performing plastic and orthopaedic procedures. Following this, he then became a GP and cosmetic doctor. Dr Bawa is an expert in a range of advanced procedures, as well as specialising in full facial transformations. He trains other healthcare professionals in injectables on Harley Street and is a keen mentor, creating a support group for colleagues and newcomers in the industry. He recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic Injectables and has had numerous articles published in aesthetic journals. As well as this, he regularly fills a guest speaker role at national aesthetic congresses. He is passionate about teaching, mentoring and patient safety as well as being an associate member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine.

Victoria Hume

Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber, RGN, INP

Victoria has been a qualified nurse since 2000, specialising in emergency medicine and critical care. For many years, she has trained hundreds of medical staff in Advanced Life Support as an accredited trainer for The Resuscitation Council UK. In 2012, she achieved the status of Independent Nurse Prescriber, vastly expanding her capabilities in the field of patient care. Alongside her dedicated career within the NHS, Victoria developed a passion for aesthetics. This passion led her to found Maidstone Aesthetics in 2010. Over the past 14 years, she has successfully run this business as Clinical and Operations Director, earning a reputation for excellence and patient care. Victoria is extensively trained in multiple advanced aesthetic procedures and complication management, emphasising patient safety and delivering high-quality procedures. She is also a dedicated mentor to the junior members of her team, fostering their growth and development within the field. Victoria is deeply committed to supporting transgender communities, providing a safe and private clinic environment where all patients can receive respectful and personalised care. Her commitment to excellence in aesthetics was recognised in 2022 when Maidstone Aesthetics evolved into MA Medical after becoming regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This milestone made MA Medical one of the few aesthetics clinics to achieve CQC registration, underscoring Victoria’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in her practice.

Marcelle King

Patient Safety Ambassador

Marcelle is a dog trainer from Poole. she joined the Save Face Advisory Board in 2018 after suffering horrific complications when she was injceted with fake Botox by bogus plastic Surgeon Ozan Melin.  Alongside Dorset police, Marcelle has pursued the case against Melin for 5 years to ensure that he was brought to justice and has declined an offer made by his defence team to plead guilty to lesser charges. Thanks to Marcelle’s bravery and tenacity, Melin has was found guilty of 2 counts of Grievous Bodily Harm without intent and was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. Marcelle Said 'Being on board with Save Face allows me to helps others avoid the likes of Ozan Melin. Don’t just think ‘if it’s cheap it can’t be any good’, as I paid more for my Botox than if I’d gone to any legitimate providers'.
